About The Shop/The shop is closed for refurb
The building at 71 N. Waco Street was originally built in 1891 to be
used as a bank. Later the building was home to Flanagan Bros. Men's Store; in fact, the original signs for Flanagan's are
still up on the back wall. After Flanagan's, the shop was home to Brown Drug, later called Brown's Corner. In the late 1940's,
H&R Drug purchased the building and remained until 1999, when the building was sold. In 2004, Ronney and Paula Earp
purchased what was to become the home of A Tiskit A Taskit and began remodeling the upstairs living quarters. As 2005 began,
the downstairs area began to take shape as a throwback to the 1950's soda fountains. A soda fountain from another old soda
shop that had closed down was installed. Barstools were brought in and recovered in Hillsboro High School colors, as were
the booths.
